A spreader is the last device in the chain of continuous mining and is used to dump excavated bulk material into the overburden. It is connected via a Tripper Car to the infeed conveyor belt system. This type of mining equipment consists of a rotating superstructure with a discharge boom and a feeding boom which is connected to the Tripper car.
