The engire starts very easy but the noise is ugly. Guys at marina told me that they could not quite tell where the noise is comin from and suggested that the only way out is to put a new motor. Gave me a freakin estimate of $5500.

You prolly get a grinding sound, right. It is caused by the driveline vibration and backlash of the gears in the tcase. By barely pressing the gas you are removing the load on the drivetrain so the backlash is essentially beating against each other. Once you put a load on it things are essentially tight.

I had this same problem but with a custom build using the Skr 1.4turbo and the a4988 drivers. Printer would make the same noise as yours and go both directions with the same direction button pressed. My only fix was to change stepper drivers as changes in marlin did nothing. Changed drivers and all worked perfect.
