The way to fix this would be to make it like other ores. Give it many uses that we could use for redstone, and utility tool, a useful item, something. Maybe add a new ore called "tin" which could be smelted with copper for bronze ingots. Maybe bronze would have low armour and duribily, but some other good effect.
